Once you have been killed, you will be sent to the spiritual world known as Otherworld. There you will remain for 2 months, or until someone from the Living Reality wishes you back with the Dragon Balls. While you are in Otherworld, your character's training stats will be increased 2 times that of normal without any regime or recovery rules applying.
Ex: If your character is an Earthling with a PL of 1,000 who has been sent to Otherworld, their training stats will be increased from 21% to 42% per week with continuous training.
If there are other characters in Otherworld, you can wage a battle with them just like you would if they were on the same planet as you, only without the element of death since you and your opponent would already be dead. This is to ensure that while you're waiting to return to the Living Reality you will still remain active within the RPG. Once your time in Otherworld is up, you will return to the planet you started out on.
